With two news people in attendance, the Representative from New York announced that the House Ways and Means Meeting Committee, which meets the second Wednesday of each month that Congress is in session in the upstairs Congressional Lounge met last Wednesday to decide where their next meeting will be held. "I dunno," Rangel snored, "I thought we might want to meet at Hooters or the Federal House Bar, but after the vote, we decided to meet in the upstairs Congressional Lounge."

When asked why he called a news conference, Rangel said, "I wanted to show the American public that real democracy is going on in this committee."

Rangel then added, "The next planned meeting of the Ways and Means Committee will occur on the second Wednesday of the month. It will follow the What to Eat Before the Ways and Means Meeting Committee Actually Meets Committee meeting. The What to Meet About Ways and Means Meeting Committee meeting meets right after the Ways and Means Meeting Committee meeting."

A Rangel aide joined in, remarking, "Thank God for our Franklin Planners!"

Before dismissing the two reporters, Rangel was asked about new Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's failure to pay $34,000 in taxes.

"Well, look," Rangel smiled to the pair, "Let's not get our shorts in-a-bunch over $34,000.00. In the grand scheme of things that's probably less than a millionth of a half-of-a-percent of what our government owes the Chinese or something like that. Give him a chance, personally, I like his style."
