Palin Blasts Dems on Proposed Surtax on the Wealthy

An angry, Sarah Palin blasted Congressional Democrats on Tuesday before a single reporter. The Alaska Governor was miffed at the majority party's proposed surtax on the nation's wealthiest earners.

"Isn't that always the way with these Democrats and David Letterman," Palin shouted. "They can come up with a sir-tax but never a her-tax. It certainly makes one wonder what it is that the Dems have against women, anyhow? You know?" Photo - Sarah Palin courtesy of Worldwide Pants

When the reporter, John Miller, of the Des Moines Thrifty Nickel, corrected Mrs. Palin that it was a surtax not a sir-tax. Palin shouted back, "Well, Mr. High and Mighty, what will you say when David Letterman rapes your daughter?"

Miller shrugged and replied that he didn't have a daughter.

"Well of course you don't," Palin crowed back.

Palin went on to say that the tax proposal was already having a rippling effect throughout the economy. "I met a wealthy insurance executive from AIG just yesterday that only received half of his bailout bonus monies in January. This poor man told me . . . mind you . . . with tears running down his face . . . that he had to break it to his family that they could only go to the Galapagos Islands or Tahiti this year, but not both. It certainly makes you think about the wisdom of this Democrat proposal doesn't it?"

Miller left shortly after that statement.

Not one to give up, Palin shouted after the departing journalist, "And a G.M. executive told me his wife was now having to buy her clothes at the Nieman-Marcus rack sale! How's that for a fine how-do-you-do, Sir?"
