House leader, John Boehner told the Thrifty Nickel: "I think the American people will see as a result of our vote tonight that we care about this country and that we care about seniors in this country. I've never seen anything like it in this town before. I personally know that several members from our side cancelled tee times, hair appointments, and some, overseas trips with lobbyists. The vote called for Medicare to merge with the World Health Organization.
Senate majority leader, Harry Reid told a reporter from the Racing Times: "Look, this vote, this merger is exciting. The new program that will come out of this - W.H.O.Cares will lay a great foundation for how we deal with an aging population in this country. If I didn't have a great retirement and medical care program, all paid for by the taxpayers, I might join W.H.O.Cares."
